We started building our fence today. It is going to go from the corner of the lower yard up to the shed behind the house. The purpose of this fence is to keep kids and their toys from going down the bank into the river. We got six posts in, which was a lot more work than it sounds like. Jacob dug holes about two feet deep for each post then packed the dirt in really well as he filled it back in around them. I was the official measure-er and post de-barker. :) Peanut was the official scout to make sure all was well around the work site.

We forgot to get the fencing staples so we have to wait to put the wire up. We might be able to do some of that tomorrow afternoon.

It felt good to make some progress on one of our summer projects. We have the fence to build and the side of the house to finish painting this summer.

The other day Jake took a picture of our friend the gray squirrel at the bird feeder. He is very plump, thanks to us. :) We also have a cute little red squirrel that comes to visit but I have yet to get a picture of him. Peanut enjoys chasing them away any chance she gets. :)
