As I was doing dishes just now the song Amazing Grace came into my head. We are experiencing a trial in our lives right now, and while it is something that we'd rather not have to be facing it is comforting to see how God is working in our lives because of it. I've always heard it said that trials are brought into our lives to make us stronger- if that is what we choose to do with them. Honestly, I haven't had many trials in my life, at least not anything major. While what we are facing right now isn't huge or life threatening, it is something very important. We are praying for a positive outcome in the situation but even if that doesn't happen I am thankful for the good that has come out of it in my own life already. Both Jake and I have grown stronger in our faith just in the last 24 hours and also closer in our relationship with one another as we face this together. I am so thankful for the strength of my husband and his desire to do right. He is such a blessing and encouragement to me even in this time of pain in his own life. I am especially grateful that my heart has been softened so that I was willing to really look at the things that I need to change in my own life. I have developed a terrible attitude of indifference towards some things and I can now see how much that has effected many areas of my life in a negative way. I am willing now to work to change my attitude. We are praying that the situation we are in will turn out positively but even if it doesn't I know that "all things work together for good" and I can see that good things are already coming from it.
Here are the words to Amazing Grace, it is the third verse that came to my mind tonight- God's grace will bring us through and is leading us HOME:
Amazing Grace
Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound,
That saved a wretch like me.
I once was lost but now am found,
Was blind, but now I see.
T'was Grace that taught my heart to fear.
And Grace, my fears relieved.
How precious did that Grace appear
The hour I first believed.
Through many dangers, toils and snares
I have already come;
'Tis Grace that brought me safe thus far
and Grace will lead me home.
The Lord has promised good to me.
His word my hope secures.
He will my shield and portion be,
As long as life endures.
Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail,
And mortal life shall cease,
I shall possess within the veil,
A life of joy and peace.
When we've been here ten thousand years
Bright shining as the sun.
We've no less days to sing God's praise
Than when we've first begun.
Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound,
That saved a wretch like me.
I once was lost but now am found,
Was blind, but now I see.

Praying that your trial indeed turns out postively. You certainly are looking at it the right way- many trials make us stronger!!
